howdy.

this set turned out to be a little more personal than i had originally intended. i had an idea for some shots based on a different hole song, but then i turned on doll parts. this song in particular was written about courtney's insecurities concerning her interest in/love for kurt. BOY OH BOY do i understand those feelings. it's a little upsetting/frustrating when you really like someone, and it's blatantly obvious a whole lot of other people do too... you have to up your game. sometimes you can end up tearing yourself down in the process. it makes you wonder if there's anything truly special or unique about yourself; i mean, she equated herself to freakin' dog bait. ouch.
i am a fairly competitive person, and i hate giving up. so naturally, the green eyed monster named jealousy has reared its ugly head a few times, which is definitely a theme in this song. putting myself out there has been scary, albeit very rewarding, so i don't regret any of it; however there have been times where the line "i fake it so real i am beyond fake," is pretty freakin' spot on. and THEN there's the whole symbolism of being a doll thing; dolls are generally thought of as pretty, delicate, breakable... attributes with allowing yourself to have feelings for another human being. scary, isn't it? editing this set was pretty cathartic for me. super glad i know miss sarah who lets me take pictures of her all the time. 
i definitely don't feel quite as insecure anymore. hooray.
