You're the fire
That warms me when I'm cold
You're the hand I have to hold
As I grow old
You're the shore
When I am lost at sea
You're the only thing
I like about me
In this world
Where nothing else is true
Here I am
Still tangled up in you
I'm still tangled up in you
Still tangled up in you

Every once in awhile, you meet clients that wind up becoming your friends. Friends that just make the job easy (even when one member of the crew is a wee bit cranky). These friends of mine are Jerica and Brandon. When I first met them outside of Starbucks years ago, it was to discuss their upcoming nuptials. I knew I liked their presence, and I couldn’t wait to photograph them.
It took a bit of time for those nuptials to come to fruition (which I had one heck of a time at - they know how to party). Fast-forward to pre-pandemic, I had the idea of gifting them a little shoot as an anniversary gift. Sometimes I just get a wild hair to work, so why not work with people that make me laugh almost constantly? Due to life, we had to reschedule a bit (so not exactly on their anniversary), but we made it work.
Aside from the laughter they bring, I really do love how in love these two are, which is so obvious on camera. Do you feel the magnetism, or is that just me?
Now, the best part of this shoot (for me) was actually at the very end. R was D O N E with the whole thing and wanted his mama (I don’t blame him one bit), and I can never resist documenting the bond a mother has with her baby. No matter how big they get, forever our babies they’ll be.
Thank you for allowing me to grab these special moments in your lives, my friends.
