Y’all, I’m just so happy.
I’ve known Brookann for over half my life now (since we are nearing 30!). All of my memories of her are fond - someone somewhere is laughing (and it wasn’t due to me).
I remember seeing that she was in a relationship with Max on Facebook. Any time this happens, you know ya girl has to creep and do some learnin’. I was pretty delighted to see my friend look so happy.
After some time I received a message - turns out the happy couple were set to get married. Brookann gave me one of the best compliments a girl could get - she said she couldn’t think of anyone else that she wanted to photograph their big day. Reconnecting with old friends, getting to do something I enjoy, eating more cake? You betcha I’m board.
Since I had just photographed her sister’s wedding a couple weeks before, I felt extra prepared and relaxed - seeing familiar faces is always a comfort, and I already had a game plan of how I wanted to shoot.
During their ceremony, Brookann had a surprised planned for Max - a touching slideshow of videos from friends and family Papua New Guinea, wishing them well. Out of all the weddings I’ve photographed and attended, this was the kindest gesture I’ve witnessed. I don’t think I was quite prepared for the raw emotion that everyone felt in that chapel.
I am wishing Brookann and Max a lifetime of happiness. For now, enjoy a few shots of their bridal portraits.
