If there ever was a photoshoot that I had been hoping I would have the chance to do, this would be it.
I remember when I first met Max and Hannah at their house - they were having a party. I was the new girlfriend of their good friend, and if you know me, you know I don’t do well in group settings. I didn’t talk much and probably came off as quite aloof. Or shy (which would be correct). When everyone else left, they took the time to get to know me - for me, that was refreshing and made me feel about a million times more comfortable.
Fast forward several months. We were both expecting girls. As you could imagine, we had expectations that our girlies would be the best of friends. So far, three years in, we haven’t been wrong. It’s been a real treat to see how similar and different E and P are (they are only two weeks apart, almost to the minute). It also tickles me pink to watch the dads with their girls, living parallel lives.
Back in June, baby A was born - a boy (and no, I did not have another baby at the same time again). Given the circumstances of 2020, we haven’t been able to get together quite as much as we’d like. Our hangouts look a little different, and I am missing out on the extra baby snuggles.
However, I finally got to have our friends in front of my camera (after about four years, which feels like an eternity for me). Andrew and P were with me of course, and I probably should have had them around more to make everyone laugh. E kept me on my toes - gave me a workout trying to capture everything I wanted - and A reeeally likes hearing “leedle leedle lee.” Note to self: Use a stuffed animal as an assistant and make ridiculous cartoon noises.
I hope you enjoy a few of these precious family moments - I can’t wait to capture more and watch our children grow.
