Ain’t never gonna let ya go
Got my heart nascar racing
Shine ain’t ever fading
He just left ya hangin’
Fiendin’ for ya love
All worth it for the waiting
give you what you need
take you where he won’t
Can feel it when we’re all alone
Know your wanting something more
My heart is like an open door
Just ring me when you wanna go
I’ll wait
Till you’re home hold a place till you’re comin home
Show you where the garden grows
Just ring me when you wanna go
I can’t wait for you to come my way
I’ve been far away
But I’ll keep runnin’
Just to find a way to you til’ then
-Peach Tree Rascals-
What a week it has been.
Really, it’s been a a year for everyone. The last few months for myself in particular have been busy. I haven’t had much time to take a breath. Which is oddly how I thrive - I am a self-proclaimed workaholic - I am quite happy when I am creating and spending time with others.
This family never makes it feel like work, however (which is how I ended up dragging them to a few places and we shot for longer than I originally anticipated)… Sorrynotsorry! But it’s just so easy to get lost in what I’m doing when I’m in the zone (and baby B just melts my heart). Honestly, it just feels like a hangout session to me, but I’m just looking through a camera.
In between locations, the song I’ve chosen for this post (Mariposa by Peach Tree Rascals) came on the radio - I had never heard it through a station before, and it was a pleasant surprise. Andrew introduced me to this song, and it’s one of P’s favorites to dance and sing to (so you know it has a special meaning to me already). The heart of the song, is about waiting and fighting for that one special person, and it’s got an upbeat melody. It filled me with warmth (and honestly helped carry me through the rest of the week following).
I have a lot more thoughts and feelings as I write these words, but the root comes from love, care, and kindness. And I love how much I can sense this, just by looking at the images with this family.
Friends, hug your family tighter when you can.
