When I woke up this mornin
Blue birds were singin your name
All the flowers were bloomin
All the new leaves were green
How I love you in the sunshine
How I love you in the shade
How I love you all the time
My love for you will never fade

The biggest compliment that you can pay a photographer is to keep coming back.
I’ve had the privilege of photographing my friend Liza and her kids a few times over this last year, even despite a cross-country move!
With each session, I mainly let the kids play and be… kids. Sure, we sneak in the shots where everyone’s looking, but for the most part, I much prefer to let them do their thing.
One perk to repeat clients, is that the kids gradually become more comfortable around you with each shoot. This is honestly the biggest factor to getting good images. Images that show their personality on full display.
Speaking of those personalities, I love love love seeing their individuality - I really do get to learn more about them as time goes by. Since I have only one child (and was an only child myself), sibling interaction isn’t something I am used to (beyond these photoshoots). I’ll be honest, it makes me excited for the possibilities that lay ahead with my own family.
From here, I won’t speak with my words on the qualities I observed in each kid, rather, I’ll let the images do the talking.
In a world that’s constantly changing, the only constants are change (and a mother’s love).
